This past July, I suffered from a bout of amnesia. Due to many factors, but resulting from a busy schedule and work overload. I lost my mind for two days. I was hospitalized and have spent the past several months recovering. It has resulted in anxiety and panic attacks which I have had to medicate away. But through that I have discovered (again) God’s rest. This time, I think, I finally have surrendered to it.
I took the month of August off to recover, I was alone during the day and had the opportunity to spend a significant time in my own stuff and eventually learned how to rest in Him again.

The process has taken much longer then my impatient type A self is comfortable with. When everything is stripped away and I was left with myself and Jesus, something happened. I had to let go.
Heb. 4:3 Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, “So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’” And yet his work has been finished since the creation of the world.

“In God’s Presence”, Máire Brennan
“Show me the way
Every night and day
Listen to my plea
When I was feeling down
You are true and full of compassion
Forever fill me with Your spirit
I will sing of Your Glory
And the angels
In God’s presence
In this world guide me
Fill my heart with great love
You are the King
You made heaven and earth
You put peace in my heart
You brought happiness to my life
I will play the harp
To praise You as long as I live
Show me the way
Every night and day
Listen to my plea
In this world guide me
Fill my heart with great love
You are the King
You made heaven and earth”
“Be Here Now” RAY LAMONTAGNE
Don’t let your mind get weary and confused
Your will be still, don’t try
Don’t let your heart get heavy child
Inside you there’s a strength that lies
Don’t let your soul get lonely child
It’s only time, it will go by
Don’t look for love in faces, places
It’s in you, that’s where you’ll find kindness
Be here now, here now
Be here now, here now
Don’t lose your faith in me
And I will try not to lose faith in you
Don’t put your trust in walls
‘Cause walls will only crush you when they fall
Be here now, here now
Be here now, here now
